Baking is always happening at my house, whether it be
cookies,
muffins, or
bread. Not only do I love concocting delicious treats with my girls because it's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but I love that I can make scrumptious foods and know they're made with actual ingredients.
I also think it's fun to try out recipes using different flour.

Are you taking advantage of the abundance of fresh produce summer has to offer? Maybe you are making a bunch of fruit pies, crisps and crumbles? If you are making a lot of summer desserts here are a few ways to
make them a bit more "lite."
- You can usually use less sugar in the fruit portion than the recipe says.

We all know that white
sugar is like the devil. It's got zero nutritional value and rots our teeth. It also makes us feel crappy when we eat it because it makes our
blood sugar level spike up and then come crashing down.

I love to make home made cookies. It's really one of my favorite things. For some time I was using applesauce in place of the oil in an effort to cut the fat, but the cookies just never tasted (or felt) the same -- and I just reverted back to the original recipe.

Cooking and baking really calm me down, which is great since the holidays (often the reason for cooking and baking) kind of stress me out. Standing at the stove or sink, I often find myself clenching my bum and that is definitely NOT a sign of a relaxed cook.
So take some inspiration from Shakira, the best booty shaker out there, and shake "it" while you sautee.
