Here's another
French dessert that's a classic cookie confection. Can you name it?

Last time I went to the store, I spotted these doughnuts in flavors such as
Hawaiian Punch,
Orange Crush, and
Dr Pepper. At first, I was curious and somewhat puzzled: Why would anyone think to pair soda flavors with doughnuts?
Ultimately I'm not sure what to think of this concept; I'm inclined to believe that food and beverage companies are running out of novelty ideas.

Galette
A flat, round French pastry with a thin crust that can be either sweet or savory. The galette may be made from puff pastry, a dough such as
brioche, or, commonly, a sweet pastry crust. The range of toppings may include fresh fruit, nut pastes, jams, nuts, meats, egg, or cheeses.

When selecting a dessert recipe for a
housewarming, choose a dish that can be eaten on the go without any utensils. Cookies and cupcakes are delicious, but empanadas keep up with the
tapas-themed menu. These tasty, small pastries are filled with berries and goat cheese.

Ever since I saw the March cover of
Gourmet magazine, I've been craving cream puffs. However, the recipe the cover featured had ice cream and I prefer my cream puffs filled with lusciously smooth cream — like the ones seen here. Cream puffs are a classic dish that every home baker should artfully master.

As much as I would love to serve a beautiful birthday cake at the
snow picnic, it's just not practical. Instead, I'll offer guests an individual treat that is comforting and delicious. Apple turnovers are festive, fruity, and easy to pack.
