Fast & Easy Dinner: Pasta with Artichokes, Olives, and Tomatoes This super quick and healthy pasta incorporates many of my favorite Summer flavors: fresh, fragrant basil, burst in your mouth grape tomatoes, and salty black olives. The natural simplicity of the sauce — the veggies and herbs are barely cooked — pairs perfectly with whole wheat spaghetti. If you prefer not to cook with wine, use a low sodium chicken broth instead.

Top 10 Detoxifying Foods I'm not a big fan of detoxes. I think that in most cases, they're unnecessary for the average person. With that being said, there is nothing wrong with adding some good fruits and veggies with detoxifying properties to your existing diet to help keep things moving along.

Take Clinton's Advice: Don't Inhale – Pot Causes Cancer There is a long held belief, by many a stoner, that smoking marijuana poses no health threats, just possible legal troubles. Well, I hate to "bum anyone's high" but new studies indicate that regularly smoking pot poses an increased risk for cancer. It seems that smoking a doobie is bad for your lungs. Researchers in New Zealand found that smoking one joint is the equivalent of smoking 20 cigarettes because joints have no filter.

Fast & Easy Dinner: Linguine and Tuna with Spicy Orange Sauce Although you may not think of canned tuna as a ingredient to use in pasta, I highly recommend you give it a try. Flavorful chunks of meaty packed-in-olive-oil tuna work best for this healthy, midweek meal. The greens and whole wheat pasta are lightly coated with a fragrant sauce before being topped with tuna.

Tips For Keeping Sushi Healthy I love sushi just as much as the next girl. In fact, I could eat it everyday if I could afford it. The problem with sushi is that it has such a healthy stigma attached to it but there are many rolls and dishes that are super high in calories and saturated fat.

The How-To Lounge: Preventing the Common Cold I came back from Thanksgiving break and almost everyone in my office was complaining that they're sick. Since Winter is officially here, we all have to do everything in our power to stay healthy, so here are some general tips to prevent catching the common cold. Click here to
  • Keep your desk at work clean and disinfect your phone on a regular basis.
  • Wash your hands at least seven times a day (studies show that you're four times less likely to develop a cold if you do) with antibacterial soap.
  • Don't share drinks or lipstick with your friends and keep a small container of hand sanitizer in your purse so you can disinfect your hands after opening doors, using ATMs, or even riding the elevator.
  • Stay hydrated and load up on fruits and vegetables.
  • Although the holidays can be a stressful time for most, try to keep it all relative as stress wreaks havoc on your immune system.
  • If you're already feeling under the weather, listen to your body and rest.

Healthy Side: Butternut and Barley Pilaf I don't really eat very much candy. I have the occasional chocolate here and there but on a daily basis, I try and steer clear from munching on lots of sweets. Halloween, however, is when I eat candy.
