Nothing gets you in the holiday spirit like the warm and cozy flavors of the season, and gingerbread is always at the very top of that list. These gingerbread doughnuts are the perfect treat to bake for your loved ones or roommates to snack on while unwrapping gifts or watching Christmas movies.

The aromatic mix of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg and the moist cloud-like texture of the doughnuts make these irresistible. These doughnuts are gluten-free and drizzled with just the right amount of cream-cheese icing, which is sure to make everyone smile and reach for another. Gluten-Free Gingerbread Doughnuts

INGREDIENTS

    • For the Doughnuts:
    • 1 3/4 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
    • 2 eggs
    • 2/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    • For the Frosting:
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 3 cups powdered sugar
    • 2 ounces cream cheese
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 4 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla almond milk

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

    2. Mix all dry doughnut ingredients in a large bowl.

    3. Mix all wet doughnut ingredients in a separate bowl.

    4. Combine these mixtures and mix well. I used a hand mixer to make it easier, but feel free to mix by hand.

    5. Spoon the dough into a nonstick doughnut mold.

    6. Bake for 10 minutes.

    7. While doughnuts are baking, mix together your icing ingredients.

    8. Allow doughnuts to cool, then drizzle with icing.
