What Do You Snack On When You Go to the Movies?

It is high movie season. All the Christmas movies are out. All the Oscar hopefuls. So many movies, so little time. More than what you are going to see, I am curious about what you eat when you watch whatever it is that you watch.

So tell me . . .

I love popcorn! I always get it, but I get it without butter. The butter gives me a stomachache.

I usally get a bottled water or a Sprite too.

I never buy anything at the movies, its too expensive! Like 7 dollars for popcorn, 4.50 for a soda, 3.00 for candy....RIDICULOUS. Otherwise, I would get a medium popcorn.

Wow i feel sorry for northerners. A movie is not a movie without a big pickle. hehe

I actually tried sneaking my own in but it's extremely messy and smelly.

I've heard that movie theaters only earn profit on their drink and food sales and that's why the prices are what they are. The ticket sales go straight to the producers or wherever.

My guilty please is butter with popcorn. Most of the time I get a water to drink though. If it's candy, it's chocolate covered Raisins or Twizzlers.

I don't like eating or drinking during a movie, it distracts me, plus I don't like to get up to go to the bathroom right in the middle of the movie.

Ha ha! I actually do bring my own snacks. Most of the time I bring candy and soda or water, but I almost always usually buy the popcorn with butter. The concession stands are way too expensive!

I don't get anything at the movies. I have junk food rituals, and can only bring myself to eat it during those - e.g. curled up in front of the TV, watching a terrible old Horror movie.

I usually bring my own drink.

Movie theaters haven't had real butter since geez the 50s or so. When I worked at one after High School I was distrubed by the whole thing. My delicious butter was butter flavored OIL! Butter flavored oil which spilled down the front of my horrible black polyester work pants and into my work shoes leaving a stain that never left. A delicious stain.

Hee hee. Stop working the snack bar after that too freaky, stored popcorn, counting cups and hot dogs and buns. Freaky.

Yeah, I get a small popcorn - a it's whole grain (a greasy one but a rare treat) or just water or I bring my own 50/50 juice water drink.

Pickles at the movies? I went to high school in Alabama, college in Georgia, and law school in Louisiana and I've never heard of a pickle at the movies. I don't think it's a southern thing.

I rarely get anything to eat/drink-sometimes I'll sneak in a water. Although in New Orleans, you could get a frozen daiquiri at the theater & I would usually get one. Going to a stupid comedy is so much more fun with alcohol.

Well I definitely live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and every movie theater here has Pickles. In Dallas, I would always get margaritas in the theater.

I figured you did with the LSU in your name. Maybe the pickle licensing laws are stricter in Orleans parish.

I'm at the movie theater about once a week and I can't walk past the concession stand without getting popcorn (no "butter"), milkduds, and soda. Mmmm.

I love raisenettes with popcorn. I melt the raisenettes under my tongue (3-4 pieces) and pop 4-5 pieces of pocorn in my mouth and chew it all uptogether. it is so delish.

My boyf started omitting the butter, and suprisingly, it is delish and buttery without the oilly ick. (we do sometimes sprinkle the white cheddar seasoning on though.)

I have stopped doing candy at the movies and get water instad of soda now, so, i think i have done good on revamping my movie snacking!
