Madonna Injects Vitamins: Taking it Too Far?

It has been reported that Madonna regularly injects herself with cocktails of vitamins to give herself an energy boost. Whether or not Madge really does this is still up in the air, but injecting vitamins is a somewhat common health practice. So do you think injecting yourself with vitamins is taking the whole 'health' thing a bit too far?

A lot of people take vitamin injections for a lot of reasons. Most use B12 for weight loss, and injections are now becoming a regular part of some health plans. I think that as long as it was prescribed by a legitimate (and law abiding) doctor who thinks the patient needs it, the patient has been properly trained on exactly what to do when injecting (if they are allowed to inject themselves), and the patient is responsible enough to know and measure exactly how much they are to use, then it's ok.

That being said, Madonna is a HUGE celebrity, and could probably get whatever she wanted if she went to a doctor. Do I think she's taking it to far? I'd have to see her medical records before I comment...and I'm not a doctor...and we all know I'm not getting anywhere near her records without getting tasered.

I don't think there is anything wrong with getting vitamin injections. However, I don't think its necessary to be done in public.

maybe she has a vitamin deficiency, so she needs it....I'm sure that if it wasn't good for her, some one would step up and say something...like a doctor lol

I inject myself with B12--and if I could do all my other vitamins like that once a week, I would totally do so. So much easier that way-- that and I am sure that they will be absorbed into my system properly.
I wish they would come out with a multi-vitamin patch.

Oddly enough, with pill forms, I feel more like a junky-taking my baggie o'vitamins everyday with breakfast.

Maybe it is more healthy, I don't exactly know all the details of it.

It creeps me out though. Just seems weird, too far like others said.

I don't see the problem with injecting the vitamins. I have never done it although I would try it.

If you need to have vitamin injections just to keep up and about.. maybe it's the time to slow down?

I am dubious as to how the body copes with vitamins in these forms and whether or not there are any long term effects of this.

Pictures I have seen of women who inject vitamins are.. terrifying.

I believe injecting a vitamin puts it directly into the bloodstream, so you wouldn't have to wait for the pill to digest, and also you wouldn't lose any nutrients in the digestion process.

I don't have an issue with this at all as long as it was prescribed to her and she's doing it correctly. I know that injectable vitamins are a lot more common in other countries than they are here. My main concern is people who abuse prescriptions medications that they don't have a prescription for.

I don't think she needs it since she eats so healthy. I highly believe that this could be made up.

I guess if you don't mind needles and feel it helps...and there would be less loss that happens during the digestive process. She looks great. Whatever she is doing is certainly working.

When you take pills the nutrients dont always make it into your system, right? It seems like there's a lot of rules, like you have to take them at a certain hour after there is already some food in your system and a good percentage of that food has to have fat . . . . .

If this made the "process" more efficient, then I don't see why not. I mean there still is something weird about it at first glance, but since I'm terrified of needles it might just be me Sticking out tongue.

I had IVs nicknamed "Cocktail vitamins" injected in me when I was recovering from something. It made all the difference.

Lots of people do this. It's expensive, but incredibly effective and beneficial.

Nope - I don't feel she's taking it too far, If anything Madonna strikes me as very health conscious and savvy -- she doesn't maintain that bod by abusing it.
