Fitness Girl Hilary Duff Takes it On the Road

Life on the road can be challenging, even for a starlet like Hilary Duff. This girl, however, has a plan to stay both sane and healthy on her tour. While most of us don't go on tour, we do go on extended road trips and vacations. Her attitude about staying healthy on the road sounds great to me.

To stay fit on the road and outside her daily routine, she relies on her self discipline to keep healthy. When on tour she requests a lot of fruits and veggies. Does she "cheat?" Yep, with pizza, but in moderation.

Hilary also really loves her dogs, so they go on the road with her. Since we know that dogs help keep people healthy I can imagine her K9 pals provide comfort and a reason to walk.

    I read her interview on Shape magazine and was surprised to realize that she is all grown up! She talked about the pressure to be thin, her drastic weight loss, and her new attitude towards living a healthy life. It was inspiring! I am not a fan by any means, but I liked the article.

    I have 2 chihuahuas that keep me on my toes. They are little but they are very hyper. If I was on the road I'd walk 3 miles everyday with my pooches to stay fit and keep my metabolism up and running!

    I try to eat a balanced meal. Usually a home made sandwich with lots and lots of veggies inside is the most convenient way of achieving this when I am very very busy Smiling (and I make sure that the bread I use is not white bread)

    oh and I try to avoid taking the public transport (or drive) and walk instead, even if it means i have to spend more time on the road.

    i try to drink a ton of water instead of sodas, etc. although when i'm the driver i'll drink coffee and red bull to stay alert. i try to get the healthiest available foods at a supermarket instead of at a fast food joint. you can get fruit, yogurt, and sandwich materials and keep them in a cooler in the car. when i get to the hotel, or beach or wherever i am going i like to take a long walk (with someone else) and figure out my surroundings. it also helps you get moving again!
