Goat's Milk Ice Cream: The Latest in Ice Cream

What's the healthy latest treat that Kim Basinger, Jim Carrey, Al Gore, Daryl Hannah, Emeril Lagasse, Lisa Loeb, Jenny McCarthy and Kate Hudson are addicted to?

No, it's not a new "chi-chi" frozen yogurt store in the Hollywood Hills, it's Goat's Milk Ice Cream. Here's why: Goat's milk is naturally lower in fat than cow's milk. It's made from a great little company in Sonoma, CA (my neck of the woods), which means it fits into my 100 mile diet plan -Yipee! I am still waiting for my samples and then I'll let you know what I think of the taste, but until then you can buy yourself a few pints online at GoatMilkIceCream.com.

For all those curious, apparently Kate Hudson’s favorite flavor is Brownie & Clyde, which just happens to be frozen yogurt -- Yum!

Thanks to offtherack for getting the scoop!

I will have to pick up some next time I am at Whole Foods... although honestly it sounds a tad gross. Just because it has the word 'goat' in it... haha!

they sell this ice cream at 'wild oats' here (colorado springs). i believe at 'whole foods' as well. maybe give your local natural grocer/health food store a call and see if they stock it!

I've tried several varieties of LaLoo's and was especially intrigued by the Black Mission Fig flavor. But be prepared: goat-milk has a much stronger, more pungent flavor than cow-milk. It takes a while for your palate to adjust!

I just ate a pint of the black mission fig kind. That was amazing and took me like half an hour to eat and it didn't taste goaty at all (I was actually dissapointed about that part). 600 calories may seem like a lot for a sitting, but I say this was worth it. Very good, I reccomend it. I got mine from Seeds of Change.

Hey everyone. I'm new here to SUGAR and am enjoying surfing the site. I found this article looking for news or new information on Laloo's Ice Cream. My wife is pregnant (five months and counting!!!) and we have been on the hunt for satisfying, yummy desserts that are not blatantly bad for you. A friend told us about Laloo's and from the moment we tried the vanilla, we were hooked. My wife is a chocolate fan and we both enjoy the mission fig quite a bit.

We have been very careful about monitoring my wife's food intake since becoming pregnant. The nutritional facts behind Laloo's product was enlightening - especially the benefits associated with goat milk products. Check it out if you are interested. www.goatmilkicecream.com/sharethelove.php

Also, the story about how the company was born is both inspiring and interesting. Its on the website somewhere.
