In Case You Were STILL Eating at McDonald's...

This video is a MUST see! I knew McDonald's was bad for me because of the cholesterol, saturated fat, and sugar content, but I had no idea that there were so many preservatives pumped into this crap too!

The man who made the documentary Super Size Me (which is also a MUST see, by the way), conducted this interesting science experiment with McDonald's food. Check out the French fries...

Want to hear more about McDonald's? Then read more

Here's the opening to the documentary Super Size Me. I definitely recommend checking out this entire movie (you can rent it through Netflix. It'll change your perspective on fast food forever.

It's not about being "happy with who you are". If you are reducing your life by 30 years and increasing your chances of heart disease/diabetes or cancer through your dietary habits then SCREW being happy. You need to start being healthy. >.<

That is truly disgusting. I avoid McDonald's like the plague - especially after reading "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser...that will seriously open your eyes to the reality of the fast food industry. Warning - don't read it if you've got a weak stomach - there's parts in it that detail the slaughterhouses!

After I watched Supersize Me, I stopped eating McD's for over a year. It really is crazy how chemically altered their food is.

While the fry thing did trip me out, the burgers reacted the same way any food would if put under those conditions. I mean, come on, would anyone expect even the most nurtured and nature pure organic heirloom tomato would not do the same thing in 10 weeks in that jar? The only thing really awesome about that video, for me, was the fries. I may reevaluate how often I eat there just because the fries are my favorite part. I would like to see though, how the fries are degraded by the acids in a stomach, as well as some information of the effect of the preservatives contained on the body. The information is probabyl out there, but I don't feel like the top video really showed me anything. The movie was good though, and did a great job of highlighting how what seemed extreme when he did it really wasn't when held up to our average fast food intake in America.

"Super Size Me" really drove home the point of how bad fast food is. I saw it two years ago, and that movie turned my own fast food habit from occaisional to nonexistent.

That just goes to show you how insidious the industry is and it makes you wonder what ingredients go into that stuff.

I didn't eat very much fast food before this movie, but after seeing it a couple of years back, I can't even look at McDonalds without feeling sick. I recommend everyone sees this movie.

That was so nasty, it was hard to watch the whole thing! Glad I'm a vegetarian. And what the hell is in those fries that preserves them so well! Chemical creepiness! Those have to be the farthest thing from a real potato!!

I eat McDonalds still. Everything in moderation right? I don't know why, but I don't really care. It's like ice cream, or smoking. It's more probably that I will die walking down the street than from any of my vices... and I enjoy them.

Whoa. Those fries are crazy! I've never seen Super-Size Me, but I definitely intend to (especially now that I know it opens with one of my favorite Queen songs). I love the occasional Big Mac, but I doubt I'd love it so much if I paid more attention to what's in it and what it does to my body. Ick.

    that is so groooooooooooooss!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw supersize me too and it actually didnt put me off fast food (minority here, haha). I mean I knew it wasnt healthy, and the results on his body were incredible, but im not eating it three meals a day, (I barely eat it twice a year) so i figured it would be like having a rich dessert every now and then.

However, I really really looove the french fries. Sometimes I will get a craving for just french fries and get a small order from the drive thru window.

Now I'm thinking of giving it up forever. Thank you. I needed that visual.

This clip is part of the bonus footage on the DVD. I bought it....I don't know why, but I've watched it several times. It's good to have around when you get fast food cravings.

I can't remember the last time I had fast food, but I think I know why. Even in a nuclear disaster those fries would still look like that I think.. haha

I haven't seen that documentary but I still eat in fast food outlets, like twice a year or so. It was a bit silly that he kept mentioning the mold on the burguers. Of course there would be mold. Have you seen fruit? Eww. Everything molds if left alone. Still. The fries. Those were freaky. I will avoid *those* next time, I think.

Yuck!! I remember my roommate cleaning out her car and finding a McDonald's French fry that still looked new even though it was probably months old.

So to add to the list of things that will survive a nuclear holocaust:

    1.cockroaches
    2.Cher
    3.McDonald's French fries

that is just gross! I can't imagine what it does in the body :| plus, mcdonald's has alwayd made me feel sick for the rest of the day.. I recently watched "Supersize me" and it made me just HATE all junk food (not just mcdonald's). I was once told by an old relative that if you really want to be healthy, avoide all processed food becasue everything that God had created has its own benefits without the need for human's intervention (which ultimatly makes it worse by over processing it, filling it with preservatives and then make you pay a minimum of 3 times more than what it would naturaly cost you).

Wow, I really want to go rent that movie now. Luckily, I have never been a huge fan of their french fries...but after watching "Super Size Me", I might not be a fan of anything they have to offer!

I think that the empahsis on the mold on the burgers was to show that it kinda took a little while for it to really grow.

I've left food in my fridge for a few days and the mold grew alot faster on 'normal' than on those burgers.....

I shall never ever ever eat mcdonalds fries ever again. Dang, thats nasty.
