OK, so you may have read this title and laughed but I've gotta say Ricki looks good! She was recently on the cover of Us Magazine and I was stunned to see her looking so fab.

Here is what UsMagazine.com reports that she is saying on her dramatic weight loss:

Once weighing 250 pounds, newly transformed former talk show host Ricki Lake has revealed exclusively to Us Weekly the secrets behind her 123-pound, size-4 shape.

Lake, 38, who just debuted The Business of Being Born, her documentary about home birth and midwifery, sits down with Us and explains exactly how she got thin – and finally made peace with her shape after a painful past.

On crash dieting in 1991: “… I went on this extreme diet. I used to faint because I wasn’t eating and I was always exercising.”

On the most exciting thing about her new weight: “For the longest time, when I was very heavy, I couldn’t cross my legs. I couldn’t physically do it. LOVE that I can cross my legs now ... Even my shoe size is changing. My Jimmy Choos are too big now.”

On what she thinks of super-skinny actresses: “I think I have no wrinkles because I always had fat on my face. Really skinny girls age so fast.”

Talk about a blast from the past -- Does anyone suspect comeback? Regardless the woman looks great and I love commending anyone with the will to lose so much weight.

"Skinny girls age so fast" -- that has to be the most lame and stupid thing I've ever heard. She is annoying, always has been!

She does look really good, I think US could have chose a more flattering "after" photo though.

While I don't know that I want to get to a size 4, she's definately motivating me not to subscribe myself to a size 12!!!

How did she exactly lose the weight? Has anyone read the issue? It's not available over here but I'm really curious how she made it.

you can lose a lot of weight and not have excess skin if it's a slow process and you are working out while dieting. people that have excess skin are the people that lose a lot of weight extremely fast... so fast that your body and the elasticity of your skin can't catch up.

Skinny girls age fast? I would think someone who gained and then lost a lot of weight (including from her face) would wrinkle even faster. Hmm.
Is she really a size 4? She looks great, but she seems curvier than that.

I'm sure the photo was photoshopped because if you lose that much weight, even if it's over a gradual period of time - aren't you bound to get stretch marks? Especially if you begin at a size 24??? I might be wrong, but I'm doubtful.

OMG, she looks so amazing. She's going to be my new role model to lose 20 pounds! If she can lose half her body weight without surgery, I think I can lose 20. Laughing out loud

In the early 90s, Ricki lost 100+ pounds in a VERY short amount of time... I remember reading that she said she did it all with diet and exercise, but it happened in like 6 mos, so that seems kind of fishy. I've lost 70+ lbs with just diet and exercise, so it IS possible - but slow and steady wins the race! Smiling

The skinny girls wrinkling sooner is true. Without the fat reserves under the skin on the face your skin get very thin and wrinkles because the collagen breakdowns more easily. Look at Rachel Zoe or Nicole Richie for examples of how very thin women age prematurely. Your body needs a certain percentage of fat to function, of course I over feed my skin fat.

I've been shocked during my weight loss that I now get carded entering a club, people seriously ask if I'm old enough to do my job (you have to be at least 25 to have the type of job and driver's license I have) and I got stopped by a truant officier who asked me why I wasn't in class at Mission High School. The excess fat in my face, plus my religious use of SPF 50 sunscreen daily on my face has kept me looking really young. Plus I think it's genetic my grandmas were wrinkle free until their 80s. My only had laugh lines from busting up so much. I'm 35 btw.

Also, I've have no jowls or sagging skin on my face as a result of my speedy weight loss (100 lbs in 7 months and still losing). Only saggy skin is on my stomach and inner thighs. My stomach because my stitches were too tight post-op and I was forbidden to workout my stomach for 5 months plus the fat pad there was enormous in my opinion so as it empties the skin just hangs but it is retracting - slowly. And my inner thighs are saggy because I stop using the hip adductor and abductor machines at the gym because they were always broken.

    I know TMI.

She looks great, and I'm glad for her (I've always loved me some Ricki), but she is NOT a size 4. I'm so tired of 'amazing weight loss' articles featuring people who are utterly delusional about what size they truly are. Do they shop at a special store where are all the sizes are larger than normal? Do they employ assistants to switch the tags in their jeans? Get real, Ricki. You MIGHT be a size 6, and that's just because you're short. Quit lying, girl.

It's true, your shoe size DOES indeed change when you gain or lose a lot of weight. I lost 80 pounds and found that my shoe size went down half a size. Plus, I didn't have all the sagging skin either. I think if you work out and lose weight in that way, your body adjusts to work those things out on its own. Good for you, Ricki!!

I agree, she looks a whole lot better, but I doubt she's a size four. My sister's a size 4 and she's way skinnier than her and I'm a size 0-00 (but I'm 5'3). Maybe she's a size 4 at Lane Bryant or something.

She might be a size 4 if she's tall. I'm 5'8", and long ago and far away when I weighed that much, I was a 4 in average, affordable-to
