They say the camera adds ten pounds, but what if it could take 10 pounds off?

Maybe your best friend is getting married and you've been toning up to look hot at the wedding, problem is that you're not quite at your goal. Wouldn't it be nice if the pictures showed you at your goal already? Now they can! The latest in digital camera technology is a new "slimming" feature. This means that with a few tweaks to a picture anyone can appear more slender—instantly. To see a picture before and after using the slimming feature, read more

Interested? The slimming feature is available on the HP Photosmart R967 digital camera. You can buy it from HP.com for $349.99 ($314.99 after rebate).

So what do you think -- Is the slimming feature cool?

i saw this on the news the other day . . . apparently it only slims you down if you're centered in the frame, but if you're on the sides it actually makes you look bigger! I'll stick to the gym to make myself picture perfect

I don't like this. I would never buy it.
Maybe they use this camera to make the Olson's and Nicole look skinnier.

I'm not heavy, but i always look huge in pictures (since i can never figure out how to stand for them) so I'd take it.

that and the heavier thing if the person isn't centered looks like future comic gold.

holy denial batman. you're overweight but don;t like to face the reality of it so you only take pics with something to make you look skinny and keep you in denial. not to mention the teenage girls that are already bombarded with media of super skinny stars. things are getting insane....quite honestly i've needed to lose a few pounds and what made me realize it was a picture. when i coulod see myself from the outside view. that is usually the most honest view.

It could be cool, but I would be really worried about everything else in the frame getting severely warped.

Agree with lisalove. The camera may make you look a little heavier, but this one (as evidenced by the sample photo) makes you look a good 25 lbs. thinner, not 10 lbs.! A lot of people (especially overweight Americans, in my opinion) are in denial about their weight/health. Inventions like these only make it easier for them to put off eating healthier or exercising a few more times a week.

I would rather reflect an honest image than a fake one. Even if I may have a little extra padding, I will probably work with it and make it look less as bad.

But the camera's an interesting idea. Amazing what people think of.

Why don't they just make one that doesn't ADD or SUBTRACT pounds?

I always hide from pictures so there are no crappy ones of me floating around...then I complain that nobody takes pix of me when I look good.

Gotta take the good with the bad, because that's life!
